Indra returns from last week for part two of her interview with Ludwina. If you haven't listened to last week's episode yet, make sure you do.

Indra Chandon is a website and SEO specialist (Search Engine Optimisation). In other words, she knows all of the tricks to use for making sure your website ranks as high as possible in search results on sites like Google, Yahoo! and Bing.

What’s Hot - Staying Laser Focused in Your Business

Ludwina shares a list of things that can help you stay laser focused on your business.

Make sure to listen to the episode for all of the tips. But in a nutshell, they go something like this:


Poor time management: Block out all of your time on your calendar - even your personal time.

Colour code project time: That way you know, at a glance on your calendar, what is coming up and when.

Procrastination: Do your least favorite tasks first to get them out of the way. Delegate or outsource some tasks to other people if possible.

Distractions: Turn off your telephone if you can (especially if you work from home). If it is important, they will leave a message. That's what voicemail is for. Also, turn off Skype and email programs that constantly alert you when a new message is received. Stay away from sites like Facebook (unless it's part of your workflow).

Not being clear about goals and/or outcomes: If you don't know exactly what you need to do in that day, how are you ever going to get anything done?

Can't say, "No": Learning to say "No" when necessary is an important skill to have. Make sure that you only say "Yes" to things that are congruent with your life and business. Don't be afraid to say that two letter word. It can make or break you.

Limit your information intake: We live in a world of information overload. Be very succinct about what you need to learn and read. If there is something that you need to read or digest later, bookmark it or use a program like Evernote to keep a record of it (See more about Evernote below).

Shiny red apples: The term "shiny red apples" is a metaphor for those really good ideas that pop into your mind when you need to be focusing on something else. Don't let these ideas take you away from the important things that need to be done right now. Again, use programs like Evernote to make a note of them for later.

Evernote is a free service that allows you to upload notes, pictures and documents (actually, many different types of files) and then retrieve them from any computer, smartphone, laptop or tablet PC. This way you can add a note or reminder to think about later instead of taking time away from your work while you are busy with something else. It also allows you to gather all of your notes & to do lists in one place; no matter where you are.
