1. Link your site/blog to other quality sites. The more links you get to your site from other sites, the more you will increase web traffic to it. But not all links are created equal. Make sure you will link to sites which are popular or have high page rank.
2. Submit your site/blog to established directories. Get your site listed in directories that have proven skills in getting sites considerable traffic such as DMOZ and Yahoo! Directory. For blogs, you can go to Blog Catalog or Best of the Web. These directories have various categories where your particular product or service can be listed under so people can easily search for it.
3. Write articles and submit them to article directories. Articles about your particular product or service can be submitted in article directories such as GoArticles.com, eHow.com and EzineArticles.com. As with business directories, your articles will appear under a category for easy search.
4. Take advantage of social networking sites. Don’t underestimate the power of social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and the current global pastime Twitter. The more contacts you have, the more percentage of people (and potential customers and business partners) you will be reaching. Most of the social networking sites have groups, forums and classified ads you can use to promote your product or service.
5. Set up contests with cool prizes. Who doesn’t love contests, especially ones with cool prizes such as electronic gadgets, trips, concert tickets, cash, etc.? Cook up a contest that will bring participants in droves. Announce them in online classified ads, forums, blogs and social networking sites.
