The gift of a home cooked meal
I had an absolute ball on the weekend and I wasn't even in the mood for it. If you know me you'd laugh at that comment, But it was true. I felt really flat over the weekend and then things turned around.
It's amazing what a lovely home cooked meal in the company of friends can do for the soul. My friend Wendy Moore and her partner Michael cooked us a lovely dinner of Pumpkin soup followed by Chicken breast stuffed with feta cheese and home grown rosemary, wrapped win Prosuitto with a fresh garden salad. Views of the city surrounded us and lovely wine and music. My favourite kind of night.
When was the last time you had a dinner party? If you have held yourself back because you felt like it was too hard, you're missing out. It's the most wonderful gift you can give a person. To open up your home, prepare a meal and sit for hours and talk. It's soothing, it's warming and it's true community.
I have at least one a week. I love them.
So, I challenge you. If you haven't had friends over in a while, get started. Do it now. And if the thought of cooking makes you cringe, do a 'pot luck' dinner. Get everyone to contribute a dish, bring a bottle of wine and enjoy the last of the summer nights.
Tell me about your favourite dinner party menu, dish, wine, whatever.
Ciao, Ludwina xxx
