Mastering the Art of Shameless Self-Promotion: Press Release


1. If you are doing something new in your business e.g. launching your website, hosting an event, etc., send out a press release.

You can send out a press release to announce events, achievements, new products or services, accomplishment in sales and many more newsworthy milestones in your business. There are a number of sites that accept and promote press releases.

2. Make the heading stand out. It is what will get it read.

Your press release headline should be concise, clear and direct to the point. It should readily grab the readers' attention.

3. Carefully construct the press release body.

Make sure to communicate in your press release the 5 Ws-Who, What, When, Where and Why and 1 H-How of your story. Outline what the actual news is, why it is newsworthy and stuff in there all the important facts—products, services, people, events, etc.
