Mastering the Art of Shameless Self-Promotion: Promotions

1. Have postcards printed with your branding on them for thank you cards or to advertise your products or services.

A postcard is something you can actually touch and keep. It is definitely a nice break from email. Since space is limited, just make sure you have a killer headline in there with a business logo, product shot or even a photo of yourself. You'll be surprised at how people are still excited about receiving an actual postcard these days! It lends a more personal touch and people will remember you more for it.

2. Banners are an ideal way to promote your business at events, seminars, trainings or expos.

Roll ups, pop ups or whatever type, banners will greatly help you promote your products and services at expos, trade shows, etc. Banners help increase customer awareness and product identification. Just make sure all the elements—content and design are all there and create a striking effect to the audience.

3. Every 3 months, send out a letter or card in the mail to your prospects and clients. It's nice to get something that isn't a bill or an email.

A letter or a card with real handwriting thrown in your marketing mix, tells your prospects and clients that they're special. You actually took the time to write instead of send the more impersonal email message. If you do this on important holidays and their birthdays, you'll truly capture their attention and they'll remember you more.

Go to our business resource centre where you will find articles on promoting your business.
