Mastering the Art of Shameless Self-Promotion: Online Marketing
1. Make sure you have at least two opt-in boxes on your website.
An opt-in box is a section in your sales page which obtains info about your prospects. This then builds up into a database called The List. For this, you only need to get their names and email addresses as people are wary of their privacy being intruded upon. Out of this, you can start building a relationship with your prospects and eventually make a sale.
2. Write articles and have them submitted on article banks and other people's websites, blogs or newsletters.
This is one effective way to promote your products and services online without shelling out money. Just write informative articles and submit them to article banks or directories or post them in your blog. You should have the articles ready for reuse in other people's blogs or websites. Your articles must have a resource box with links to your blog or site proper.
3. Make sure you have a database on your website and send regular newsletters to your list.
Basically, a database allows you to store info in an organised format. This makes it easier for you to manage and retrieve data. If your site has content that needs to be regularly updated (news, new products, newsletters, etc.), a database can help you control these more efficiently.
