Mastering the Art of Shameless Self-Promotion: Speaking

1. In the beginning speak as often as you can for free. Just get yourself out there.

Seek opportunities to speak in public about your subject of expertise. You can either charge a small fee or speak for free. The more you speak in public, the better you'll get in time. Armed with knowledge and a good script, you will soon get the hang of it and reach more people through your speeches.

2. Always get testimonials particularly on video, of people who have heard you speak.

The public regard testimonials (particularly video testimonials) good proof of your effectiveness as a speaker. When you use testimonials, you create more impact and more converts as people rely on reviews and testimonials of others too to make a purchasing decision.

3. Join a club to improve your speaking e.g. Toastmasters or invest in a public speaking training course.

To further develop your public speaking skills, you can join Toastmasters or enroll in other training courses for public speaking. This way you will express your ideas better, be more compelling when speaking to your clients and customers, and even deliver those informal speeches at dinners or weddings with aplomb!
